先日のフィリップ・ドゥ・ヘーア駐日オランダ大使の講演会でお話くださった徳川時代の朱印状。
皆様の関心が高かったのですが、大使館からコピーをいただきました。
そしてESUJの山田雅司常務理事が「釈文」を研究してくださいました。
（横書きなのがちょっと変ですが…）
おらんだ船 日本江渡海之肘何之
浦に随為着岸不可有相違候
向後守此皆無呉越可被往来
聊疎意有間敷候也如件
慶長十四年七月二十五日
ちゃくすくまらんへいけ
因みに最後のひらがなは「宛名」だそうです。幕府からの差出なので宛名が下に書かれたそうな。
英語のみならず古文書の勉強のおまけつきでした!
The License to Trade given to the Dutch by the Shogunate
This is the Trading Pass from the Tokugawa Era (Year 1609) which Dutch Ambassador Dr. De Heer introduced to the audience in his lecture on March 31.
Translation into more modern Japanese follows. Even the Japanese find it hard to read classical Japanese. (Non-Japanese find it impossible!)
